Description
In this session attendees will be given an overview of emerging technologies and the potential impacts to the Professional Engineer (PE).  The session leader, Tom Conway, PE will share his technology planning and implementation experiences with UAVs/drones, 3D deliverables, cybersecurity, cloud computing/big data, and more from the perspective of a Project Leader that successfully completed large, efforts in support of US military operations.  Attendees will gain insights into the history and interconnectivity of these technologies and what it may mean for the current and future PE.

Expected outcomes and what attendees should gain from this presentation:
Insights and lessons learned from an experienced Project Lead in managing large projects that involved the introduction of new technologies into the designs.  This includes management techniques, technology forecasting and application including the implementation of smart design processes such as ‘sprints’ to get specific projects done under compressed schedules.
