EJCDC® CMA‑550, Notice to Proceed is used to notify the Contractor that it may proceed with construction as of a specified date. If no Notice to Proceed is issued, then the Contract Times commence on the 30th day after the Effective Date of the Contract. See Paragraph 4.01 of EJCDC® CMA‑700, Standard General Conditions of the Construction Contract—Construction Manager as Advisor Series (2021) (“General Conditions”), for the governing provisions regarding commencement of the Contract Times and use of the Notice to Proceed (2021).
